This is a great product, that Garmin and others should include in the box when you purchase a GPS. It is compact so that it does not stick out too far from the dash. The double-sided tape is a 3m product that is extremely strong. For the price you cannot go wrong with this product.
This is truly exactly what I had been looking for!! The ball on the end of this fits my Garmin Nuvi cradle perfectly. I have the 780 and my wife has the 360. Both are the same ball/socket size.
The adhesive on this is comparable, if not identical, to the stuff on the black circle included at the factory with your GPS. I cleaned off my dashboard with a wet wipe (to remove dust and cleaning product/armor-all), dried it with a tissue, and stuck it on.
This item also has a threaded tension control. Unfortunately, the Nuvi cradle fits a bit loosely (Garmin’s fault, not this product). It did this with the default Garmin mount as well. However, this item allows me to tighten up the other end of the ball at least.
What is it? It’s a double-sided ball->stick->ball. Both ball sides are identical. One is intended for the Nuvi cradle. The other fits into the tension-screw end that holds it in place to the adhesive base. So simple, yet so cool. My GPS sits less than an inch from my dashboard now, rather than the huge Garmin mount that came with it.
