    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

I lost the car adapter for my Magellan. I don’t know how, I just did.

Sadly, going to the Magellan website wasn’t helpful in getting just the one thing. Thankfully there is Amazon.

I’ve used this for a little over a year now and it’s still working fine. The item well constructed, it’s survived getting “accidentally” flung from the car and onto pavement a few times. (I don’t give that person rides anymore.)

There aren’t many options if you’re looking for a replacement charger, but you won’t regret getting this one. I can tell you that much.

EDIT: After a little over a year the end of the charger fell off. I fished out the pieces from the charging socket and was able to plug the charger in and it still worked! Once I was at my destination I was able to screw the parts that had come off back on. It seems that when I unplug the charger I have a tendency to twist a bit, which little by little unscrewed the rings on the end. The charger still works just fine, but now I always make sure to periodically check the top is secure.

Works fine. I had lost this adapter and amazon seemed to be the only place one could get it (I could no longer available from the producer of the GPS)

I bought this because the coiled cords on my GPS put to much tension on the cigarette lighter cord where the cord goes into the GPS and caused the wires to break and short out. This hasn’t been a problem since I put this cord on. It is also longer so it isn’t in the way so much of the gear shift and steering wheel since the GPS is always mounted in front of the steering wheel just below eye level or to the left of the steering wheel so the old coiled cord was always in the way. I don’t use the windshield suction cup. It is worthless and illegal in this state anyway.
